Ugly Covers Kill Conversion

You carefully researched your niche. You devised an informational product that matches perfectly with consumer needs. You spent time and energy making sure the result was a true masterpiece. You invested hours of effort in concocting a perfect sales strategy.

You are ready to make some serious money with your ebook.

Maybe.

If you didn't produce a winning cover for that ebook, you could be in big trouble. Research demonstrates that an attractive ebook cover and associated graphics can be a real difference maker in terms of conversion rates. If you don't have a cover, you will be climbing a steep hill toward sales success. If you have an ugly or unprofessional cover for your ebook, you will be losing prospective customers left and right.

An attractive and captivating ebook cover does a few things for you.

First, it attracts consumer attention. The Internet is chock-full of text and sales pages for informational products, in particular, are word-heavy. A good graphic gives a reader's eye some place to rest and can grab their attention as powerfully as a good headline. Half of closing the sale is getting someone to pay attention to your message and a quality ebook cover can make that happen.

Second, an attractive cover communicates the quality of the ebook itself. Consumers may have a hard time believing that the ebook pitched with a lousy graphic actually contains high-quality information. People do judge books by their covers--no matter how many times they've been advised not to do so. If you put together a great cover, you can let prospective buyers know that your product is worthy of their consideration and isn't merely a throwaway.

If you run with an amateurish cover (or no cover at all), you are killing conversions. Visitors to your pages are more likely to skim right through or click away without an eye-grabbing image of the product. Even if potential buyers are interested in your message, they may not trust you or the product if it doesn't appear to be part of a truly professional operation. If visitors encounter a lousy cover, they may very well assume that thee book itself is lousy and not worth a dime.

Ugly covers kill conversions. Good ebook covers make money. Investing in quality cover graphics is a sensible investment. The potential return of having a great-looking product pitch swamps the cost of commissioning a professional ebook cover.

Think about everything you've invested in your ebook. Doesn't it make sense to add one more feature to your approach that could be the difference between massive sales and a lackluster performance?

Make sure your ebook covers are professional and impressive. Don't kill conversions when you could be collecting them!
